Harry was the guitarist of the first quintet. We began as quartet but he came on board early in our existence. (Bill Goodwin, Steve Gilmore and I celebrated 30 years together as of Valentine’s Day 2004.) Harry was one of the greatest guitar players ever but was not a road rat. He was a family guy and he preferred to stay home and teach so a lot of jazz fans only know him from his short sojourn with us.
