"Flatjack Willie" is for one of the pioneers of Salsa, percussionist Willie Rodrigues. He was a beautiful man--a lot of laughs! Whenever Willie was on a date you knew it was going to be fun. His quick wit and friendly nature made him a valuable and well-liked musician. He always had the right sound at the right time (and what time!) whether it was Brazilian, Cuban, Afro or Puerto Rican.
